Steve Lambert

Steve Lambert learned plenty growing up as a Boomer in the shadows of the Second City: Dealing with heartbreak (the ’69 Chicago Cubs), what separates a good Italian beef sandwich from an also-ran, and how to keep your face from freezing when the wind chill hits -20. He also learned a love for newspapering, effective storytelling and the political process.

Steve majored in journalism at Southern Illinois University (Go Salukis!) and spent the next 34 years as a reporter, editor and publishers at newspapers across the U.S., most recently serving simultaneously as VP of News for the Southern California News Group and publisher of the San Gabriel Valley News Group. Teaming up with his friend of (now) 40 years, Tim Gallagher, Steve has spent much of the past decade as one of the most respected public affairs and strategic communications professionals in California.

As partner in The 20/20 Network, Steve works with a wide variety of government entities, businesses and nonprofit organizations to help them more effectively tell their stories and achieve positive results. His clients include the Southern California Association of Governments, Ontario International Airport, San Bernardino County Transportation Authority, the Southern California Leadership Council, the County of San Bernardino and the cities of Fontana, Ontario, Apple Valley and Rialto.

Importantly, Steve is one of the most influential connectors in the Inland Empire, and is leading or in the center of major collaboratives that are transforming the region. These include: Inland Economic Growth & Opportunity, Inland California Rising, Inland Empire Changing the Narrative and the Ontario Airport Roundtable. He also has served on a variety of nonprofit boards. “Southern California and the Inland Empire are my home,” Steve says. "It’s where my wife and I have raised a family. Having the opportunity to create a more prosperous, inclusive future for this region is incredibly meaningful work, and I’m privileged to have the opportunity to do so.”

Steve and Deana Olivares-Lambert live in Upland and have a “Brady Bunch” of five children: Max, Freddy, Calista, Malaika and Suraya. Oh, and two dogs: Mr. White (a tip of the hat to ‘Breaking Bad”) and Mindy.
